Which standards do you design earthing and lightning protection to?
Earthing design follows ENA TS 41-24, EREC S34 and BS EN 50522, and lightning protection follows BS EN 62305. We design against measured soil resistivity and realistic fault levels rather than generic assumptions.
What is a touch and step potential assessment?
It checks that the voltages a person could be exposed to during an earth fault, by touching plant or by the difference in potential across the ground, stay within the safe limits in BS EN 50522 and EREC S34. We model the earthing system to confirm compliance and design remediation where existing sites fall short.
